Evergreen Studio of Music and the Arts Re-Opens in New Location
Grand opening and ribbon cutting festivities set for June 12, 2010
San Jose, CA – May 20, 2010 – Evergreen Studio of Music and the Arts (ESOMA) has opened its doors at their new location on 2860 Aborn Road, corner San Felipe and White Road in Evergreen. A grand opening will be held on Saturday, June 12 from 11am to 2pm. Ribbon cutting festivities will be lead by San Jose District 8 Councilmember, Ms. Rose Herrera together with ESOMA’s Director, Ms. Elvie Teodoro. ESOMA invites the community on the day’s events which also include afternoon tea treats and live performances by students, and guest performers.
“Elvie Teodoro has worked diligently to create an exceptional music and arts haven in Evergreen for children and adults who want to learn or enhance their talents,” said San Jose District 8 Councilmember Rose Herrera. “We are very fortunate to have a program like ESOMA in Evergreen that encourages music and the performing arts in San Jose.”
The new and expanded facility has 6 private instruction rooms and a fully-equipped rehearsal studio. Together with 6 instructors, ESOMA promises to provide quality music and arts instruction, as well as create an enriching environment that fosters achievement and creativity toward personal development for students of all age levels and backgrounds. Private and group classes for piano, violin, clarinet, drums, guitar, saxophone, voice, theatre arts/acting, and Kindermusik are now available. Summer schedules for additional summer sessions in the music and arts are posted at the studio.
ESOMA is also home to two young Evergreen musicians from the Johns Hopkins University music scholarship program. Deena Asfaha is on the guitar program and Moises Alcantar is on the violin Program. They both recently joined the ESOMA student body early this year.
Additionally, ESOMA offers acting classes and performing opportunities with its Theatre Arts program. Students have the opportunity to take a variety of acting classes, as well as participate in plays, musical theatre productions, and other performing arts activities. Auditions are held for seasonal productions, and all who audition are cast.
Evergreen Studio of Music and the Arts (ESOMA) is located in the heart of the Evergreen Valley in San Jose since 2005, ESOMA provides quality music, performing arts instruction to students of all ages. The studio offers students an excellent opportunity to learn various musical instruments, take voice and theatre arts lessons, as well as to help them realize and develop their full artistic potentials. Performing opportunities for students are also numerous throughout the year. ESOMA has an exceptional, well respected teaching staff. Instructors are highly-credentialed, with a wide array of teaching and performing experiences in their respective fields. It is very important for ESOMA that we build on our students’ successes, be it big or small. Each talent progresses at their own rate.
