Henry Ramos

Born in Los Gatos California, Henry started taking piano lessons at age six, and then later excelled to the trumpet as a main instrument.  Henry also enjoys performing the Bass Clarinet and Alto Sax.  As a Wind Instrument instructor, and music director for many bands, Henry’s present emphasis is conducting and private lessons.

At age twenty, Henry became the Music Director at Most Holy Trinity Catholic School in San Jose.  He also directs the Portuguese Philharmonic of Uniao Popular in San Jose. 

He studied music at Fresno State University as a trumpet major.  There, he studied with Classical/Jazz Artist Dr. Michael Caldwell and was in the top wind ensemble at Fresno State.  Henry has been a part of the Santa Clara County Honor Band and Cal Poly State Honor Band.

David Roberts

David Roberts grew up in Milpitas California. He started playing piano when he was nine.  By twelve he decided that he wanted to branch out with music, so he picked up his mothers guitar, and never looked back.  He started performing at the age of sixteen at various churches and at an occasional club. 

He attended Ohlone College where he studied guitar with Richard Kendrick, and voice with Dr. Dennis Keller. David continues his education at San Jose State University where he is in the process of getting his composition degree.  He is a soloist, and member of San Jose State Concert Choir.  David is also studying film music with Dr. Dan Wyman, the composer of “Lawnmower Man.”  He studies composition with Dr.  Pablo Furman, and voice with Joseph Frank.

David has been teaching guitar, voice, piano, and early music classes in Milpitas and San Jose for eight years. David operates a home recording studio, where he writes music for short films.  He also writes orchestral compositions, and his own songs which he often performs. 

Most recently David leads worship at Park Victoria Baptist church.  He is an integral part of the music there, where he plays guitar and sings.  He also received his first commission for the upcoming Fiftieth Anniversary of the church, for his song “Jubilee.” 

Loren Alonzo

Loren Alonzo was born and raised in San Jose, CA . She began piano lessons at the age of five and all throughout her high school years was a voluntary piano accompanist and alto vocalist at the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church.  She was a member of San Jose State University Women’s Chorus.

After Loren graduated from High School, she received a music scholarship award at Cal-State East Bay University where she studied piano with Ellen Wasserman in the years 2004 and 2005.  Loren became a music major with an emphasis in piano performance at San Jose State University. She has also studied with Namik Sultanov, a well-known Russian pianist with a specialty in Sergei Rachmaninoff.  Loren graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance at San Jose State University under a well-known pianist, Dr. Gwendolyn Mok, a specialist in Maurice Ravel who was a famous French impressionistic composer in the early 1900s. Loren always had a passion for music since she was a child and has received various  piano awards and certificates throughout the years. She has been teaching piano since the age of eighteen and enjoys working with kids and young adults.

Beverly Serafica

Beverly Serafica started the playing piano at a very young age. During her musical studies she was also involved in the orchestra and in chamber music under the direction of Joni Swenson. She participated in various music festivals and competitions held by organizations such as the California Music Educators Association, Certificate of Merit, National Guild, and the California Association of Professional Teachers. After years of training, Beverly decided to take her musical career to the next level. She moved north to attend the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where she studied piano, accompaniment, and chamber music with Professors Mack McCray, Timothy Bach, and Yoshi Nagai. In 2008, she graduated with a Bachelors degree in Piano Performance. She is an active pianist, music director, accompanist, and teacher throughout San Jose and the San Francisco Bay Area.
 
Annamarie Matthews- McKnight

Annamarie Matthews-McKnight grew up in the Evergreen area of San Jose, and started her theatrical career by producing, directing and starring in shows in her own backyard From those early beginnings, she went on to major in Theatre Arts, receiving her Bachelor of Arts Degree from California State University East Bay. She has also completed additional work at the graduate level in Film Theatre and Television at San Jose State University.

Her professional work in Theatre includes Acting, Directing, Stage Managing, Design, and Technical work with Sound and Lighting. She has been on national tours with the California Theatre Center, The Children's Theater Workshop, and the Pickle Family Circus tour including Canada. She has directed and taught acting classes with Peninsula Youth Theatre, American Musical Theatre of San Jose, Children's Musical Theatre of San Jose, along with many schools and programs throughout Northern California.

Annamarie is currently the executive producer of the television show Creative TV! and is often seen as a host on the locally produced television show Community Balance. She has also appeared on NBC's Nash Bridges, as well as commercial and industrial videos for Mervyn's and Warner Brothers, among others. As someone very concerned about the decline of fine and performing arts in the schools, as well as a concern over creating developmentally appropriate programs for children, she is currently specializing in Child Development, and is an active member of NAEYC. She has taught drama in many schools from the Pre-School to the College level, and has passed the Praxis Exam in English Literature, as well as the CBEST.

She truly loves working with children of all ages, and yes, that means grown-ups too!
Her passion is creative expression through the Theatre Arts, and she enjoys helping others be self-expressive through the performing arts!

Hannah Robbins

Hannah Robbins was born in Rochester, New York.  She began taking violin lessons at the age of four and was very passionate with her studies in music throughout her grade and high school years.  Robbins moved to Nashville, TN where she continued her violin studies at Blair School of Music, a division of Vanderbuilt University.  She has studied extensively with instructors including Erin Hall, Alice Kanack, and Carolyn Huebl.  Robbins has also participated in many music festivals such as the Brevard Music Festival, MPM, Rocky Mountain, and the Governor's School.  She has also been part of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, CURB, and the MTSU Honors Orchestra.  Aside from music, she really enjoys being outdoors and studying classic literature. 

Francis Salamanca

Francis Salamanca was born in San Jose, CA. He began taking piano lessons at the age of four and studied for almost ten years before taking on jazz and contemporary piano at age 15. At the age of 9, he took up saxophone and has been making it his passion ever since. Experimenting and enjoying all kinds of music, Francis continues to explore music and learning new instruments eventually becoming Second Chair Percussionist and Principal Saxophonist of the San Jose Youth Symphony Philharmonic Orchestra from 2006 to 2008 touring Eastern Europe as a soloist in Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue and Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition. He has playing experience with his middle and high school bands such as Chaboya's A-Band, the Santa Clara Portugese Marching Band, Most Holy Trinity's School Band and Choir and Bellarmine College Preparatory's Symphonic, Jazz, and Pep Band ensembles he also was invited to play with the San Francisco Youth Symphony Orcehstra. His awards include the Heritage Music Festival's Maestro Award ranking him nationally among other students, Bellarmine's Louis Armstrong Award in Jazz playing, Bellarmine's John Philip Sousa award in Classical Music excellence, and the Bank of America Excellence Award in Music. Now a college sophomore at Loyola University New Orleans he was awarded the Presidential Scholarship Award of Music. Francis continues to study music toward earning a Bachelors of Music in Music Industry Studies and Jazz Studies. Francis also was accepted to the Berklee College of Music, NYU's Tisch School of Music, and USC's Thornton School of Music, and UCLA's music program. He is currently a member of Loyola University's Concert Band and Jazz Workshop Ensemble. His current achievements include participating in the Stanford Jazz Workshop Master Class and Performance series as a young guest artist and cooperating with film composer Randy Newman and Grammy-winning Trumpeter Terrence Blanchard for Disney's The Princess and The Frog by playing with selected students from Loyola University for the film's score.
