I-Wen Wang

Ms. Wang started piano and percussion at the age of 7. At the age of 15, she graduated from the best pre-college program at the TNNUA in Taiwan with honors. She first came to the United States with music scholarships to perform in the Bowdoin International Music Festival at the age of 15, later, she made debut in the prestigious Salle Cortot in Paris, Wein Saal in alzburg, and performed across the United States and abroad. Ms. Wang's honors included many first prizes from national and local piano competitions in Taiwan from 1995-2003. She is also a prize winner from Oakland East Bay Concerto Competition in California, and Mozart Piano Concerto Competition in Ohio. Most recently, she is awarded from the 1st Seattle International Piano Competition, as the youngest participant at the professional category. Besides piano performance, she taught piano previously in Cleveland
and San Francisco.

I-Wen is currently pursuing her Master's of Music degree in piano performance at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with tuition scholarships. She holds certificates from the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris in France, Universität Mozarteum Salzburg in Austria, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Shu Hua Cheng

Shu-hua Cheng began playing piano at age 5.  She grew up in Taipei,
Taiwan and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Piano from Chinese Culture
University.  Ms. Cheng came to the United States in 2003 to study at
the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with renowned teachers Betty
Woo, Tim Bach, and Corey Jamason.  In 2005, she received her Master's
Degree in Piano Performance.  Ms. Cheng is an accomplished pianist,
harpsichordist, and accompanist, and quite simply, has a passion for
music.  In addition to teaching piano lessons to students of all ages,
Ms. Cheng is currently an accompanist for Crystal Children's Choir and
a member of MTAC: Music Teacher's Association of California.

Loren Alonzo

Loren Alonzo was born and raised in San Jose, CA . She began piano lessons at the age of five and all throughout her high school years was a voluntary piano accompanist and alto vocalist at the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church.  She is a member of San Jose State University Women’s Chorus. 

After Loren graduated from High School, she received a scholarship award at Cal-State East Bay University where she studied piano with Ellen Wasserman in the years 2004 and 2005.  Loren is a music major with an emphasis in piano performance at San Jose State University . She has also studied with Namik Sultanov, a well-known Russian pianist with a specialty in Sergei Rachmaninoff.  Loren is currently studying with a well-known pianist, Dr. Gwendolyn Mok, a specialist in Maurice Ravel who is a famous French impressionistic composer in the early 1900s.

Loren has always had a passion for music since she was a child.  She has received various  piano awards and certificates throughout the years. She has been teaching piano since the age of eighteen and enjoys working with kids and young adults.    

Henry Ramos

Born in Los Gatos California, Henry started taking piano lessons at age six, and then later excelled to the trumpet as a main instrument.  Henry also enjoys performing the Bass Clarinet and Alto Sax.  As a Wind Instrument instructor, and music director for many bands, Henry’s present emphasis is conducting and private lessons.

At age twenty, Henry became the Music Director at Most Holy Trinity Catholic School in San Jose.  He also directs the Portuguese Philharmonic of Uniao Popular in San Jose. 

He studied music at Fresno State University as a trumpet major.  There, he studied with Classical/Jazz Artist Dr. Michael Caldwell and was in the top wind ensemble at Fresno State.  Henry has been a part of the Santa Clara County Honor Band and Cal Poly State Honor Band.

David Roberts

David Roberts grew up in Milpitas California. He started playing piano when he was nine.  By twelve he decided that he wanted to branch out with music, so he picked up his mothers guitar, and never looked back.  He started performing at the age of sixteen at various churches and at an occasional club. 

He attended Ohlone College where he studied guitar with Richard Kendrick, and voice with Dr. Dennis Keller. David continues his education at San Jose State University where he is in the process of getting his composition degree.  He is a soloist, and member of San Jose State Concert Choir.  David is also studying film music with Dr. Dan Wyman, the composer of “Lawnmower Man.”  He studies composition with Dr.  Pablo Furman, and voice with Joseph Frank.

David has been teaching guitar, voice, piano, and early music classes in Milpitas and San Jose for eight years. David operates a home recording studio, where he writes music for short films.  He also writes orchestral compositions, and his own songs which he often performs. 

Most recently David leads worship at Park Victoria Baptist church.  He is an integral part of the music there, where he plays guitar and sings.  He also received his first commission for the upcoming Fiftieth Anniversary of the church, for his song “Jubilee.” 

 
Annamarie Matthews- McKnight

Annamarie Matthews-McKnight grew up in the Evergreen area of San Jose, and started her theatrical career by producing, directing and starring in shows in her own backyard From those early beginnings, she went on to major in Theatre Arts, receiving her Bachelor of Arts Degree from California State University East Bay. She has also completed additional work at the graduate level in Film Theatre and Television at San Jose State University.

Her professional work in Theatre includes Acting, Directing, Stage Managing, Design, and Technical work with Sound and Lighting. She has been on national tours with the California Theatre Center, The Children's Theater Workshop, and the Pickle Family Circus tour including Canada. She has directed and taught acting classes with Peninsula Youth Theatre, American Musical Theatre of San Jose, Children's Musical Theatre of San Jose, along with many schools and programs throughout Northern California.

Annamarie is currently the executive producer of the television show Creative TV! and is often seen as a host on the locally produced television show Community Balance. She has also appeared on NBC's Nash Bridges, as well as commercial and industrial videos for Mervyn's and Warner Brothers, among others. As someone very concerned about the decline of fine and performing arts in the schools, as well as a concern over creating developmentally appropriate programs for children, she is currently specializing in Child Development, and is an active member of NAEYC. She has taught drama in many schools from the Pre-School to the College level, and has passed the Praxis Exam in English Literature, as well as the CBEST.

She truly loves working with children of all ages, and yes, that means grown-ups too!
Her passion is creative expression through the Theatre Arts, and she enjoys helping others be self-expressive through the performing arts!
